Lifeshelter is a unique multi-purpose shelter solution.
Sizes range from 9m2 to more than 40m2. Two standard sizes are off-the-shelf and can be ordered here.
Lifeshelter differs greatly from other solutions on the market in several ways.
Our shelters are made exclusively from natural and sustainable materials, they are designed to be produced locally, and they are considerably more durable than most other solutions.
The cost of a Lifeshelter naturally depends on the order size.
However we have managed to push the cost of our Family Shelter down to near the cost of a typical tent solution. If you take into consideration that a Lifeshelter has a life span several times greater than that of a tent, our Family Shelter will typically be overall cheaper than a tent.
Sizes can easily be customized to meet specific demands. However two standard size are off-the-shelf:
Our Family Shelter has a floor area of 18m2 and is complying to the UN standards for recommended minimum living area for a family of 5 people. The shelter dimensions are 2.20m (H) x 3.75m (W) x 4.72m (L).
The Community Shelter has a floor area of 41m2 and is therefore ideal as a classroom, storage facility, community center, etc. The shelter dimensions are 3.41m (H) x 4.95m (W) x 9.6m (L).
Within 8 weeks from the order date we will start the training of local staff and launch the building of the first structure.
Our Family Shelter has a life span of 15+ years.
The Community Shelter has a life span of 25+ years.
We base our concept on sourcing and implementing most of the materials locally. Only a few core components are imported for each project.
Likewise we provide training, after which the actual construction is carried out by local staffs.
All our solutions are designed to be produced locally. Only the raw stone wool panels that make up the basic structure of the shelters are imported. All other materials and processing are sourced locally to the extent possible.
This both helps strengthening the local communities, and ensures the needed flexibility in the production process.
